🔧 PART 7: PICO simulation – extensive or pragmatic?

🌍 EU-HTA affects 27 member states and three EEA countries. Covering all 30 countries in a  PICO Simulation is strenuous.

Why not looking for a shortcut ❓️

 

🎯 Quite often, commercialication is only planned for a handful of countries, e.g., EU-4 (Germany, France, Spain, Italy). Why not focus on them? It is reasonable to assume that these four countries will indeed cover many important PICOs.

 

☝️ Wait a moment: What is the intention of the PICO Simulation? You want to know all likely PICOs to facilitate preparation. Knowing that a missed PICO gives risk for incompletenes, when there is not sufficient time left after the first request. With that in mind, stopping after identification of only some PICOs, misses the point of the whole exercise.

 

💡 Conclusion: There is no room for a shortcut by being pragmatic. Otherwise you will not be prepared.
