Fallacy 4: PICO is driven by payer archetype – really?

♜ Fallacy 4: PICO is driven by payer archetype – really?♜
🌍 PICO scoping is quite complex, and 27 member states (plus 3 EEA countries) are a lot.
So why not apply payer archetyping to PICO scoping❓
💰 Payer archetyping is a great tool to get a quick overview over the payer landscape, e.g.:
🔹 effectiveness countries
🔹 cost effectiveness countries
🔹 budget-driven countries
🔹 multi payer countries
We tried it ourselves and would like to share our insights.
🔍 Identifying most PICOs is great – but not enough: you don‘t know what you‘ve missed.
Once you learn about the assesment scope, having identified only 80% of all PICOs in advance will not be sufficient.
The idea of a PICO scoping is to get as close as possible to the actual assessment scope. Everything else is most likely a waste of time and resources.
✅ Better go for the full picture and do not relay on archetypes only when preparing for JCA.
